Green List Occupation Checker

The Green List is Immigration New Zealand's list of in-demand jobs. Tier 1 jobs can apply for residence straight away; Tier 2 jobs lead to residence after 24 months of work in New Zealand.

    Where does the occupation data come from?
    INZ's Operational Manual, Appendix 13 (the Green List), version dated 9 March 2026: 198 occupations — 161 on Tier 1 and 37 on Tier 2. The verification date is shown above.
    What is the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2?
    Tier 1 occupations can apply for the Straight to Residence Visa immediately. Tier 2 occupations lead to the Work to Residence Visa after 24 months of work in New Zealand in the role.
    My occupation is not on the list. What now?
